Supporting Perinatal Mental Health, Parenthood, Trauma & Grief

Life is a Wild Path

You may have already discovered that there is no straight and narrow when it comes to life. We were also not meant to walk this path alone. And yet, at times we can feel like we are the only one feeling this way.

Hurting, yearning, breaking, longing, struggling, drowning, growing, changing, becoming.

The perinatal period is a particularly wild path. The term perinatal is encompassing of a wide range of time from planning to conceive all the way through to parenthood and beyond. Whether you are the birthing person or the partner, the perinatal period can be overwhelming.

The problem is that we really don’t talk about the wild path of the perinatal period where it feels like we are going uphill, without a map, unsure of if and when there is a destination. And we can often feel like we are on this path ALONE.

The great news is that you no longer need to feel so alone in all of this. Booking a free consult today with a Registered Psychologist can offer you the sacred and confidential space to release what you are holding.

I’m Trina a Registered Psychologist, mom, and founder of Wild Path Counselling

I started Wild Path Counselling because I wanted to have the freedom to do things differently. You see, psychology has been able to inform us that when it comes to healing, doing it in relationship can be one of the biggest factors in creating change. And from neuroscience, we have discovered that to have the most transformation in therapy, we need to address the bottom, top, left and right sides of our brain. This is infused into who I am as a therapist.

I am also passionate about supporting you or your partner with perinatal mental health. My background is in trauma & grief work, acute mental health, and attachment work. Before my first pregnancy I was already beginning the process of specializing in perinatal mental health. When I experienced my own birth trauma and a NICU stay, this really encouraged me to dive into the research and become personally invested in birth trauma and perinatal trauma impacts and healing. With my background in trauma and grief therapy I also continue to see anyone needing trauma or grief therapy outside the perinatal period as well.

You will find that my extensive background and training, as well as personal experience has deeply rooted me in what I do. I am a Registered Psychologist and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional. Find out more about why it can be important to choose someone with these qualifications here. I also have training in EMDR therapy which is incredibly effective for Birth Trauma or other Perinatal Trauma. You can read more about EMDR therapy and watch a video. Check out more about me and you can also read about the different types of therapy and treatment offered in the drop down menus above. I’m so glad you are here and I hope that you find Wild Path Counselling can be the right fit for you on your healing journey.
